    Q
Need quick kill for Crabgrass in St.Agustine?
    Please recommend a product.
    A

Unfortunately their is not a selective product that will remove crabgrass from St. Augustine.  St. Augustine is a very fragile grass, and so most selective products that are labeled to remove crabgrass and not your real grass, will hurt the St. Augustine.  It is recommended to kill the crabgrass with a round up type product, like Ranger Pro, which will also kill just the St. Augustine around the crabgrass that it is sprayed on, and then a couple weeks later re-seed those areas with new St. Augustine.

    Ranger Pro:  http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/ranger-pro-herbicide-25-gallons-p-1124.html

For long term control though, you should apply a pre-emergent in the late fall and early spring which will prevent new crabgrass from coming up next year.  If you apply pre-emergent every year, you should not have issues with crabgrass long term.  Barricade is one of our most popular pre-emergents for crabgrass.

    Q
how much area will 2.5 gal of ranger pro kill vegation?
    what is the mixing rate?
    A
The usage rate will vary greatly depending on what and where you are treating. You can use a 2/3 of an oz per gallon rate - undiluted for harder jobs. Please read over the Ranger Pro product label to see what usage rate you will require for your needs to see how far the product will go for you. In general one 2.5 gallon can treat several acres at the 2/3 of an oz usage rate.

    Q
Can I use Ranger Pro in my lawn without damage to my Bermuda grass?
I have some type of weed taking over my lawn. Frost doesn't kill it off. Should I spray now or wait till warmer weather. I live in alma Arkansas. Thanks.
    A
Ranger will kill just about any type of plant it is sprayed on though it will not likely kill plants that are dormant including the weed. You will need to wait until the weed is actively growing to kill it with Ranger. You should avoid spraying desirable plants.

    Q
Is Ranger Pro Herbicide good on dormant bermuda in the Atlanta, Georgia area?
I have few weed everywhere in yard. Can i apply this product in yard with end hose sprayer on dormant bermuda grass. Its is still 50 degrees temp and grass has no sign of green.
    A
You can apply for weed control if the grass is dormant but we just had some of the major manufacturers of glyphosate products come in and they have indicated that Bermuda grasses in GA, if you look all the way down near the root, have already started to green up and may be damaged by broadcast sprays of glyphosate products like Ranger. You may want to only spot treat the weeds if this is indeed the case.

    Q
Can I use Ranger Pro to kill weeds in Asiatic Jasmine?
    A
Products containing glyphosate like Ranger Pro would likely kill the weeds and the asiatic jasmine because it is non-selective. Snaposhot 2.5 TG would be a good choice for a broad spectrum pre-emergent around Asiatic Jasmine. Fusilade II should be used if you need a broad spectrum post-emergent selective herbicide.

  • Asked by Terri from Phx, Az

    Q
After killing the weeds with Ranger Pro Herbicide, can something be planted there and survive?
Also can you spray around established or new plants to kill the weeds around them w/o killing the plants or shrubs?
    A
You can replant after 14 days in areas that have been treated with Ranger Pro. Any plant that is directly contacted with Ranger Pro will be killed. If you are spraying near desirable plants you should make sure you are not doing so on a windy day and you should block the desirable plant with a piece of cardboard or other shield.

  • Asked by John from Tulsa, Ok
    04/02/2013
    Q
What happens if too much Ranger Pro is applied?
I applied the product, waited 4-5 days, and did not see results. So I reapplied the Ranger Pro. Turns out the first time I applied it was too cool and cloudy, so the product wasn't very effective. And the second time I applied it was very warm and sunny, at which point it worked well! But, I'm afraid I have applied too much? What will happen?
    A
Ranger Pro pretty much only stays active while it is wet. Once dried the active ingredient has already done its job and will start to degrade. You shouldn't see negative results at this point.

    Q
Does the weather temperature make a difference in results of Ranger Pro weed kill?
    A
Yes, temperature can effect the results of herbicides. If it is too cool outside the weeds will not readily take in the product and you will not be able to achieve the desired results.

    Q
How much for a 2 gallon sprayer do I mix up 3 teaspoons or 1 tablespoon for Bermuda Turf grass?
When you have active growing Bermuda Grass greening up and you have spotted weeds .
    A
The amount of Ranger Pro Herbicide you will use per gallon of water will vary from 2/3 fl oz - 13 fl oz per gallon of water depending on what type of plant you are trying to eliminate. Please refer to the Ranger Pro product label for exact usage instructions. Also, keep in mind that Ranger Pro is a non-selective herbicide, which means it will kill everything it gets sprayed on including the surrounding Bermuda grass where the spots of weeds are coming up. If you are looking for something that will only kill the weeds without harming your lawn, you could use SpeedZone Lawn Weed Killer.

  • Asked by Amy from Searcy, Arkansas
    06/19/2013
    Q
I want to kill everything but my Bermuda in my yard how do you mix the Ranger Pro.
    A

Ranger Pro is a non selective post emergent herbicide and it will kill just about any type of vegetation that it is sprayed on so we would not advise for you to use on your lawn.

Our most popular general weed control product that is selective, meaning it will not harm your turf grass but it will kill your broadleaf weeds, is End Run. End Run is labeled for just about any weed you could have and will not harm your grass.  Best of all, it comes with a surfactant already mixed in the product so you do not have to purchase and mix a surfactant separately like you do with most of the other herbicides that we sell.
