    Q
Can I use Sevin on my couch and carpet?
I was told that I could use Sevin-5 in home on couch, carpet, and that it would kill everything. Me or my pet, was told just to wait no longer than 2 days before sweeping up, also told that people were using it on pets instead of Frontline or other. Is this true?
    A
Sevin (at least the Sevin product that we carry) is not labeled for use on couches or carpets, and it is not labeled for use on pets.  So we cannot comment on the validity of those statements. We can only make recommendations based on the instructions on the product.

    Q
Is it safe (for honey bees) to use Sevin in my area (Central Florida) on my Grapefruit and Lime Trees?
    A
According to the Sevin Concentrate product label "This product is highly toxic to honeybees and other bees. Do not apply to plants in bloom." Almost all insecticides are toxic to bees as they are non-selective. You can help limit any effect to bees by being careful not to apply the insecticides when bees are actively foraging in the area.

    Q
What is the shelf life of Sevin Concentrate?
How many years can you keep Sevin Concentrate?
    A
Sevin concentrate, like all of our concentrates, can easily last up to 5 years on the shelf as long as you keep the lid on tight and keep the bottle out of direct sunlight.  It also helps to shake the bottle every few months if you have not used it in a while.

    Q
How do I spray for squash bugs and how many oz per gal?
    A
According to the Sevin Concentrate product label, which is always available on our website, "To effectively kill the vegetable pests listed below, mix 1.5 fl. oz. of product per gallon of water and apply product in adequate volume to effectively cover both the upper and lower surfaces of the plant." You did not indicate the vegetable you were spraying but we assume that it is squash. The pre-harvest interval is 3 days for squash and you can spray a maximum of 6 times per year.
