Treating Bagworms
By Anonymous on 07/29/2013
I was beside myself with 100s of bagworms all over my evergreen trees and shrubs, killing them. I used ecosmart insect killer, killed many but still had a bunch left. I tried Sevin and no more bagworms! Love this product! It works and not too expensive!!

MIX IT A LITTLE WEAKER
By Kelly on 07/14/2014
I KILLED my entire garden with this stuff. :( I suggest mixing it half as strong as label suggests. It burned up all the foilage and now I have no garden anymore. I have no bugs tho too! I might go buy some more plants, but it is late July now, so it might be too late to even find any half way big enough to have time to produce anything. I am just warning everyone this product REALLY works so well that I think you could mix it half as strong and still have it work. It is just a garden.. and I will get over it, but I wish I had been scared and mixed it weak just to be on safe side. Chalk it up to a learning experience for me I guess.

no longer carbaryl. No longer worth a darn

Be careful with peppers.
By Dave on 06/22/2014
Killed my cutworm problem just fine (coult the lil jerk wiggling an inch form a stem), but as the reason I rarely use it unless I have to, it's within an hour of application caused my plants to start wilting. I bought a brand new sprayer just so there would be no contaminants mixed in. Dangerous stuff, or I've done it wrong.

Not Carbyl - They changed the active ingrediants
By Michael on 07/31/2020
I have been using Sevin for many years and have been very happy with it. This "new" Sevin does not contain Carbyl but zeta-cypermethrin. At this point, I cannot say for sure if it is less effective, but I think it is a deceptive practice to make a change like this and not make it clear on the packaging. I blame the manufacturer more than DoMyOwn, but both should have made the change more prominent.

New, More Effective Active Ingredient
By Claire on 05/02/2020
Zeta-cypermethrin has been used by commercial farmers for several years with great success, and I am happy that this chemical is now available for homeowners. New Sevin keeps my lawn, ornamentals, and veggies free of pests and offers better residual control than carbaryl. Whereas carbaryl dissipates after a week, zeta-cypermethrin lasts up to a month.

Excellent Resuls
By Lonnie on 10/12/2018
I had an infestation of Armyworms in my yard, devouring all the foliage on my Bermuda grass, leaving nothing but stems. I ordered Sevin concentrate and received promptly. Applied the recommended product to my whole yard. In 24 hours no Army worms were found in my grass. Hammered the worms. My grass is coming back green. Will buy again if needed.

Sevin 1, Armyworms 0
By John on 10/19/2018
Used to eradicate the moths from the Armyworms. Applied Granular first, and then Sevin. Easy to pour into Ortho Hose end sprayer. Had to dial back the setting on the sprayer to 1.5 to 2 oz. Easy to apply and good results, but I did do a second application since none of my neighbors did any treatment. This product is economical for my 20,000 square foot yard. Will be able to use next year should these pests decide to come back.

Bagworms Beware
By Stephen on 07/11/2020
I had to spray approximately 250 trees for bagworms. The tangent benefit of spraying for the bagworms was the decline in other obnoxious insects like flies, mosquitos, and moths. The downside was the lack of pollinators for my cucumber plants.

New formula safe, for bugs!
By Mic on 09/16/2023
Could not believe 4oz per gallon recommended. This means 0.35% is very weak and I am buying water not active ingredients. Not effective enough on cucumber beetles on my pumpkins and squash plants. Beetles seem to fly around after treatment. Not a contact effective insecticide.

Great unsect food
By Tim on 06/30/2024
I mixed 4 ounces if Sevin Concentrate with one gallon of water because of some holes eaten in my cantilope plants, I sprayed this mixture onto my cantilope plants and it got even worse, the leaves are getting shreded and half of one plant is about eaten up. I sprayed this mixture on a bunch of tiny black ants in another area, didn't even faze them, still walking around and half hour later. We must have super bugs here in my state.
