    Will Sevin Dust 5% kill spider mites?
    A
    The Sevin Dust 5% is not labeled for spider mites.  If you are not applying to anything edible, Talstar P works well for both the mature and the immature spider mites. Talstar P provides optimal spider mite control when applied during spring to mid-summer. Higher application rates and/or more frequent treatments may be required for acceptable spider mite control during mid- to late-summer. The addition of a surfactant or horticultural oil may increase the effectiveness of Talstar.

    How often should I dust my veg garden with Sevin Dust?
    Also, should I stop dusting once the plants bloom?

    The rate at which you apply and how often will depend on what pest you are treating for and in what area or crop. The label suggests after flowers bloom you may not want to dust them as the sevin dust could kill the beneficial insects that would be coming around to pollinate.     Can I use Sevin Dust on herbs?
    My basil has holes in it.

    Sevin Dust is not sepcifically labeled for use on herbs, however it is labeled for different types of edibles. Please contact the maufacturer Garden Tech at 866-945-5033 to verify this product can be used on your herbs.

    How long should I keep my dog away from the Sevin dust?

    Generally, Sevin is to be applied in areas where pets will not be. However, should your pet come into the area treated, You want to keep pets away from the treated area until the dust has had time to settle.

    can sevin dust be applied to garden soil to kill ants and pillbugs

    Sevin Dust 5% is only labeled to be applied to leaf surfaces in gardens. Cyonara Lawn and Garden spray would be a good choice to control sow bugs in a vegetable garden. Please read the Cyonara Lawn and garden spray product label to be sure the veggies you need to treat are listed on the product label.

    Sevin Dust 5% is not labeled for use on animals. We do carry Hi-Yield Garden, Pet Livestock dust which can be used directly on dogs for flea control.

    Can Sevin Dust 5% be used to kill bees and prevent them from entering the area where their hive is?
    entering an outdoor outlet on our deck.

    Sevin is not labeled for bees. We would recommend using Delta dust or Tempo dust for eliminating bees that have been entering the outlet. Dusts do not offer an immediate knockdown but instead kill over a couple of days. Dusts will keep killing for several months after they have been applied to covered areas.

    If I use sevin dust to kill ants in my compost pile, how long before I can use the soil to start my seeds?

    You do not have to wait any period of time as long as the seeds you are planting are listed as an allowed plant on the Sevin product label. You should not use Sevin dust in the compost if the seeds you are planting are not listed on the product label.

    Is Sevin still active once it is mixed with water?
    I have a severe case of bedbugs and was told to spray all infected areas with sevin mixed with water since my infestation is so severe. Will it work?

    Sevin is not labeled for use on bedbugs or for use indoors and you should not use the product for off label uses. You should use products that are specifically labeled for bedbugs to eliminate the infestation. Please consider purchasing one of our bedbug kits as they come with the products that you will require to eliminate bedbugs. You should use bedbug proof mattress and boxspring encasements on your bed.

    Sevin dust is not labeled for bedbugs and cannot be used indoors. We recommend that your purchase and use one of our bedbug kits. These kits come with everything you need to treat all of the different areas of the infested rooms. We also recommend putting bedbug mattress and boxspring encasements on your bed.

    Does Sevin dust Cicada Killer Wasps?

    Yes, Sevin dust should work like any other dust.  If you get the Sevin Dust in the hole or burrow where the Cicada Wasp is nesting, it will pick up the dust on its body when it leaves the burrow.

    Can Sevin Dust 5% be used on okra pods? If so how many days do I have to wait to harvest?

    This particular product Sevin Dust 5% is not labeled for use on okra. We do carry another product that contains the same active ingredient called Fertilome Liquid Carbaryl Spray and it is labeled for use on okra. With Fertilome Liquid Carbaryl Spray you will need to have a 3 day preharvest interval.

    What is the total weight for the 3 canisters of Sevin dust 5% pictured on your web site?

    Each canister of Sevin Dust 5% contains about 1 lb of dust and with packaging each container probably weighs about 1.10 lb. All three canisters together would probably weigh about 3.30 lbs.
