Last year I tilled my yard and reseeded but mostly nothing but crabgrass, clover, and yellow nutsedge came up. I was told it was because the seeds are in the soil. I was planning to till the yard again in early spring. Should I apply Tenacity first and then till or should I till the yard, then apply Tenacity and reseed a day or two layer. Or should I wait until the grass starts growing and the use Tenacity.
If you are applying Tenacity Herbicide as a pre-emergent application, you should till first, otherwise you will be disturbing the barrier it creates to prevent weeds from emerging. You would apply prior to, just at, or right after seeding if you are going to do both, be sure seeding is within 7 days if you choose to apply Tenacity first then seed.
