So bees are in the jar of the Carpenter Bee Trap, now what?

How do I dispose of the bees in the jar? They are still buzzing and alive... If I unscrew lid, they fly away, defies the purpose of catching it... Is this like a training device of catch and release and they learn on not returning?

Answer:

Once bees have been trapped in the Carpenter Bee Trap you can place a little soapy water in the jar to kill them.
