    Great product...

    By Karen on 07/21/2020

I use this every year to control spots of Nutsedge weeds popping up in yard in the Summer time since it is recommended not to pull the weed which makes it multiply. Really works and doesn't harm lawn. Easy to apply with attached sprayer either with stream or wide spray. Recommend.

    My lawns new best friend!

    By Troy on 10/10/2020

I planted my Zoysia just over a year ago and it turned out beautifully, but although the seed seller has a great product, one of the several bags of seed had some nutsedge seed in it. I'm not griping because it's hard to keep 5,000 sq. ft. of lawn 100% weed free, so how can you expect a SOD company to be able to keep over 15,000 acres 100% weed free? You can't. When the sedge was maybe 2 weeks old I sprayed it with 2, 4D and Quinclorac as a split application, and although sedge wasn't on the list of controlled weeds for either herbicide, the first half of the split application made it very sick, and the second half of the split app finished it off. I didn't realize the sedge was part of the seed I put down, but I saved a little seed for overseeding several spots, and the sedge came back. The original 2, 4D and Quinclorac did not kill the sedge this time, so when I was walking through a big box store I grabbed a bottle of this stuff (same product, just not "ready to spray"), and saw it contained Sulfentrazone, which is one of the two best products for treating sedge, so I bought it. When the weather was suitable, I mixed this and applied to my lawn using a backpack sprayer and at first I didn't think it worked, but over the next few weeks 100% of the sedge in my lawn stopped growing and has been gone for several months. Since Zoysia is a slow growing turf, if the faster growing sedge was still there, it would easily outpace the Zoysia. I live in the transition zone so I can grow either warm or cool season grass, so I will use this in the back lawn where I plan on putting down Midnight Kentucky Bluegrass. This is safe on this turf as well and I'll be using it in each phase of my next lawn project, and to spot treat my nearly weed free front lawn until it is as perfect as I can get it. For the money, you can't beat this product. I you are someone that doesn't recognize most weeds, this is a great tool because it will knock out the majority of weeds in a lawn. As I was saying, my front lawn is already nearly perfect, and about at a point I can just take some glyphosate in a envelope moistening bottle with a sponge applicator and spot kill weeds that I don't care to try and find exactly what they are.
