    Q
Can you add a pre-emergent to SpeedZone Southern Herbicide?
    And Sedgehammer for nutsedge?
    A

You can mix and apply other herbicides with SpeedZone Southern Herbicide as long as you first perform a small jar test for compatability. You also need to be sure to follow the most restrictive label when mixing products, and be sure that you are using the correct rates for each product. Keep in mind, also, that pre-emergent herbicides will need to be watered in with rainfall or irrigation within the amount of time specified on the label, while a post-emergent like the SpeedZone Southern should have at least 24 hours without rainfall or irrigation for best results.

Please note that Speedzone Southern has been discontinued and replaced with Speedzone Southern Herbicide EW.

    Q
What is the difference between Regular Speedzone and Speedzone Southern?
    A

The main difference between SpeedZone Lawn Weed Killer Concentrate and SpeedZone Southern Herbicide would be the types of turf grasses they are labeled for use on. The SpeedZone Southern is formulated for sensitive warm-season southern grasses. The percentage of active ingredients are also a bit different.

I have 10 hives in my back yard.

SpeedZone Southern Herbicide should not harm bees as long as they are not sprayed directly.  It would be best to apply early morning when they are not in the area to avoid contact.

    Q
Can SpeedZone Southern Herbicide be tank mixed with Image Herbicide to kill crabgrass?
    A

Tank mixing is not recommended unless your experience indicates that the tank mxture will not result in turf injury. When tank mixing certain herbicides with other selective herbicides, surfactants, etc, this can reduce the selectivity of the herbicide resulting in injurying or killing the grass. We recommend doing a small compatibility test in a glass jar to ensure the two herbicides mix properly and then do a small test application in the lawn to determine sensitivity. Do not broadcast over the lawn without doing a test application first.

    Q
If newly laid sod turns brown from SpeedZone Southern spray, will the sod live or should I replace it?
    A

SpeedZone Southern Herbicide should not be applied to newly laid sod until it has been mowed at least twice or has been 30 days since installed as it can inhibit the growth and establishment if applied too soon.  Only time will tell if the sod will survive or should be replaced.

    Q
Does SpeedZone Southern Herbicide require a surfactant?
    A

Per the label instructions for SpeedZone Southern Herbicide, it is not necessary to add any type of adjuvant to SpeedZone Southern as it is already designed for rapid penetration and uptake.  All adjuvants including surfactants, spreader stickers, detergents etc. will change the physical and biological properties of this product, which are often antagonistic, and show no significant influence on efficacy. SpeedZone Southern Herbicide is a post emergent which will kill the weeds that have emerged, it will not prevent weeds from growing.

    Q
Will speed zone be effective against common yarrow?
I have patches of yarrow in my lawn that are quite pesky. Will speedzone be effective? Any recommendations for how to apply it for yarrow?
    A
SpeedZone Southern Herbicide is labeled to eradicate yarrow. The rate you will use will depend on your grass type. For a cool-season lawn, you will mix 1.5 to 2.2 fl. oz to 1 gallon of water per 1000 sq ft. For a warm-season lawn, you will mix 0.75 to 1.5 fl. oz to 1 gallon of water per 1000 sq ft.
