I sprayed Orthene PCO Pellets all over my house along the baseboards and now my whole house smells like a carcinogen. Any tips?

Currently in a hotel and I sprayed my house 2 and a half hours ago I have asthma so when is the right time to go back into my house also should I open windows I have the Celling fans on in my room and living room and downstairs too

Answer:

The odor that the Orthene PCO Pellets has comes from its active ingredient Acephate, which is why the product is for outdoor use and is not to be used indoors. The indoor spray guidelines advise it should only be done by a pest control operator. You can try to rub the treated areas down with soap and water and let air out however we would recommended speaking with your Doctor on any precautions needed before re-entering the home. Please contact the manufacturer directly for more tips as well. Your Amvac representative can be reached at 1-888 GO AMVAC (1-888-462-6822) or visit www.amvac-chemical.com for more information.
