    Q
Will Sucker Punch kill other plants under my oak tree?
I have a boulevard live oak that has always had suckers. We planted native bromeliads near the trunk, and that section has few suckers as the bromeliads grew dense. farther out we have new, young bromeliads and the suckers are taking over through the mulch. Will spraying the oak shoots/suckers also kill our bromeliads?
    A

Sucker Punch Ready to Use should be used as a very directed spray application to the cuts or sprouts that are coming up that are unwanted around the trunk areas. Overspray of the Sucker Punch can harm buds and foliage of flowers and neighboring plants if drift or overspray occurs. If the suckers are coming up throughout the bromeliad areas, we would suggest a very careful spray to the shoots or to pour a small amount of the solution into a bucket used for chemicals and use a paint brush to directly apply the product to the shoots.

    Q
Will Sucker Punch work on Gamble Oak suckers that are 18" tall?
This spring the suckers came up all around the oak and the suckers are now 18" tall. I bought the spray applicator of Sucker Punch. How much do I spray? Do I trip the leaves & spray the stalks or leave the leaves & spray them?
    A
According to the label for Sucker Punch Ready To Use, this product should only be used on suckers that are no more than 10 inches. You will need to prune them off first and allow them to grow back but not more than 10 inches. The maximum single application for ornamental woody plants is 3 fl. oz. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. The maximum annual application for ornamental woody plants is 9 fl. oz. of product per 1,000 sq. ft.

    Q
Can Sucker Punch Ready to Use be used on fruit trees?
We have numerous citrus trees that have suckers coming from below the graft. Can this be used to stop those suckers? Or is there something else that can be used?
    A

From checking the product label it looks as though the Sucker Punch RTU can be applied to non bearing citrus sprouts to help get control over the new growth.

Per the product label: This product prevents and inhibits vegetative growth in woody plants. After proper pruning, allow new sprouts to regrow and apply this product when sprouts are no more than 10 inches tall.

    Q
Is Sucker Punch safe to use on Cleveland pear tress for sprouts and sucker growths?
Per my question above, this product is listed as a herbicide. An arborist said not to use herbicides on these tress (his example was roundup etc).
