    Q
    Active ingredient Deltamethrin
Suspend SC has the same active ingredient as DeltaGuard G but does not list Bermuda mites as a target pest like DeltaGuard G. Can I use Suspend SC to control Bermuda mites? Is a granular or liquid more effective?
    A
We would not advise you to use Suspend SC to control bermudagrass mites since it is not labeled to control them. Even though some products have the same active ingredient they are not always labeled for the same pests.

  • Asked by Elaine from Panama City Beach Fl
    07/11/2022
    Q
Can Suspend SC Insecticide be sprayed on house plants to treat for gnats? Will it harm the plants?
    A

Suspend SC can be used to treat for gnats on houseplants at the mix rate of  0.25 fl oz to 1.5 fl oz per gallon of water howefver the plants should be moved outdoors prior to spraying and allowed to completely dry before bringing them back indoors. Do not spray houseplants indoors.

When spraying the plants, treat all top and bottom surfaces of the leaves, branches and stems till wet but not dripping. Replace any saturated potted soil if needed or allow the soil to dry out will also cut down on the infestation.

Suspend SC is labeled many common household insects and commonly used as a general purpose insecticide treatment indoors when applied along baseboards, around windows, doors, walls, ceilings, corners, and other areas where gnats and other insects have been seen congregating or resting.  View the full product label for more information.

A systemic granule product like Bonide Systemic Insecticide Granules can be use on the soil for fungus gnat larvae as well.

  • Asked by Corey from Dallas, texas

    Q
    Will suspend sc kill tarantula?
    A
Suspend SC Insecticide will not kill tarantulas. Spiders in general are harder to kill than other insects because their bodies are higher off the ground and they do not groom their legs(the part of them that actually comes into contact with the insecticide) and therefore take longer to receive a lethal dose of the insecticide. Spraying Suspend SC Insecticide will also help to get rid of the insects that spiders feed on and that will help to stop new spiders from moving in. Indoors, spray around all baseboards, door frames, window frames, under appliances, in closets and storage rooms and in areas where utilities enter into the structure. Outdoors you should spray around the bottom of the foundation, on the ground adjacent to the foundation, door frames, window frames and places where the utilities enter into the structure.

    Q
Does Suspend SC kill off an ant colony, do the ants take it back to the queen?
Will the ants take the chemical back to the queen?
    A
Suspend SC will kills ants via residual. Meaning that it leaves a residual behind for up to 30 days outdoors, but it does not transfer to the other ants. If you are looking for something with a transfer effect you may want to look into Termidor SC

    Q
If Suspend SC Insecticide was sprayed an inch and half off of almost every baseboard in my home, was this proper use of the product per the label?
My landlord did the treatment and wanting to know if this was correct use per the product label instructions as it states, "spot treatment" and "crack and crevice" but also broadly uses the term.
    A

If using a fan or cone spray nozzle pattern instead of a pin stream when applying Suspend SC Insecticide, it’s going to provide a wider spray along baseboards, under cabinets, sinks, around windows, etc. This would be fine and in accordance to the product label. If there is any overspray of concern, you can remove this with warm soap/water or normal cleaning practices.

    Q
Will freezing Temps affect Suspend SC and other pesticides when applying on the exterior perimeter?
    A

Spraying Suspend SC in freezing temperatures can cause the product to freeze and not function properly. There should also not be a need to apply it in those temperatures since there is not any insect activity present during those times.

    Q
Can Suspend SC be applied around a pool area and be safe after drying and then exposed to water?
    A

Suspend SC Insecticide can be applied to lawns, landscape beds, etc that are surrounding the pool however should not be hard surfaces such as concrete, decks, patios, etc that border the pool directly. Once treated areas in lawns, landscape beds, etc have dried, it is safe for normal activity around the pool areas even if they were to get wet.

    Q
Can Suspend SC, Talstar P and Surfactant be tank mixed in one spray tank and applied all together?
    A

Suspend SC and Talstar P should not be tank mixed together as they have the same modes of action and would hinder results. You would wnat to use one or the other but not both together nor should these be cross treated and applied in the same areas.

A non ionic surfactant can be used with Talstar P to treat for mites per the product label. The Supspend SC product label does not advise or state a Surfactant is required.

    Q
Can Suspend SC Insecticide be used in a handheld sprayer around the exterior of a house for perimeter control of insects if there is a vegetable garden nearby?
We use this at our house in a spray mist application (with a Stihl blower) to keep mosquitoes away and in a 2-gal handheld sprayer around our entire house (doors, windows, etc) to keep cobwebs away and other bugs from trying to enter. My parents have a large vegetable garden, so we've never tried to mist this around their house. Would it still be OK to use in the handheld sprayer around their barriers to control cobwebs? Thank you!
    A
Suspend SC Insecticide can be used to treat around the exterior foundation of homes, around windows, doors, under the eaves of roofs/overhangs as well as on bushes, trees, shrubs and lawns. Suspend SC Insecticide cannot be used on edibles therefore applications should be done on non windy days and depending how close the vegetable garden is to the home, using a plastic barrier to protect the vegetable garden can be used to prevent any overspray.

    Q
Will Suspend SC Insecticide kill Camel Crickets?
    A
Suspend SC Insecticide is not labeled for Camel Crickets. Talstar P would be an better option if wanting a liquid insecticide to treat the both the interior and exterior of the home. Please review the product label for application rates and more information.

Another good option for Camel Crickets would be using Niban Granular Bait as a perimeter band around the foundation, trees, stumps, firewood, or as a scatterbait in localized areas. This can also be used indoors in approved areas on the product label.

    Q
Is Suspend SC Insecticide safe to use where food is located or put up?
    A

Depending on where you need to treat, we recommend picking up the food and moving it out of the way before treating with Suspend SC. Once the treated cracks and crevices are all dry, and if the food is in containers or canned, you can put the food back.
