I've used this a few times now trying to clear algea out of a 1/4 acre pond. It does work well but is definitely not easy to use alone. You can only throw it so far and eventually have to pull it out further to drag in the hard to reach stuff. The holes are perfect at not tangling debris when you dump it out afterwards. My only complaint is that the aluminum shell will get dents in it on top between the rope holes. This is from the weight of algea and pulling up on the ropes to get it out of the pond. The dents pop back out but I feel it will get progressively more weak as it is used. I feel the manufacturer will say I am overloading it but I would disagree considering the size of the basket and amount I am pulling out. Overall it is designed well and to make it stronger would make it too heavy. I could not think of a way to make a better one that is this effective for less money.
