I reluctantly rate this product as a 1 star. Purchased last month and now have more insect issues than I had before using. Very difficult to apply (it's like sand) so it flows through the lawn spreader like water. The areas that I was able to treat had minimal impact. It appears that this is not the solution that I thought it would be. Spend the extra money and use Merit or Arena. These are systemic applications so when the insects eat the lawn - they die. The problem with non-systemic products is that they will kill if it comes in contact with the insect but if it doesn't - you are right back to square one. Not even as good as some of the products that you can buy in the big box hardware stores!

Telstar X turned out to do a great job on the larger red and black ants but not as well with the small black ants. the Talstar PL worked very well for the small black ants and nearly as well on the big red and black ants. The Talstar PL is my choice for the ants I have. It gives me a one time application performance. The Talstar company gets an A+ rating for customer care.

I bought this product about 1 year ago and it didn't do any good. I re-purchased it recently and decided to read the directions. It has done a great job on the mounds that I treated. Only time will tell the lasting effect but you must follow the printed instructions to have any luck with fire ants.

3 days after applying Talstar and watering it in, the brown patches began to gradually green up and have continued to do so since. Now 2 1/2 weeks later, the brown patches are 95% gone and still improving. Sprinkled Talstar granules on our wood deck and our black ant problem has also gradually disappeared. Way to go Talstar!

This product seems to be working very well. I have not seen any new areas affected by the cinch bugs.

Works very well for red ants. You have to keep on top of them as they swarm twice a year.

Use with a hand grass seed spreader around foundation of home , out about 12' Of coverage as well as your favorite spray, this adds extra protection and works well, lasts about a month, easy to reapply thru out the summer months.

This is the best stuff I have ever used for the control and elimination of fire ants - Central Texas. I highly recommend this product for any and all control of ants. It works well for scorpion control as well. Additionally, the Talstar in liquid form is also an excellent product.

With a tropical bird rescue in the woods - you are going to have roaches. Nothing is perfect but this works well to keep them at bay!

I purchased this product several years ago, applied it and no fire ants for a couple of years. Not the same with this application. I applied it about a week ago and several days later new fire ant hills reappeared in my lawn. I don't know what went wrong. Did the product content change or was the problem with the application? Not sure if I should order more or live with the results.

I was tired of paying for a pest control service and still having pests so I gave Talstar a try. I'm here to tell you, brother, this stuff works! I used it around the perimeter of my home and in the yard where my kids play most. Within a week any ant beds that were there had "dried up" (no ant activity). Dump your pest control company and use this stuff and you will have given yourself a pay raise!

I have ordered and used this product sold by your company before this season of lawn health care control. I was so well pleased with my first purchase and the product's performance that I made this recent purchase. I have refered this cite to my friends and I will continue to purchase other needed products for my lawn care. Talstar controlled my chinch bug and eliminated ants in my yard. I discontinued my lawnservice for the control of this pest and do it myself at a savings. Great product and it works.

Applied as directed and the ants were still there the next day. I live in Kosciusko Ms. Ortho use to sell ant killer that I broadcasted in my yard that worked, however they do not sell it anymore.

Fast shipment and great product.  Kills all bugs around the house immediately. This stuff destroying nervous system of all insects. If it will work as promised for 2-4 months, a 25 lb bag will last over a year.

Arrived on time as promised, was well packaged. At this time three bags of Talstar PL sit in my garage. According to experts the time to apply is the last week of April for mole crickets in my area.

Maybe it will keep other bugs away but we purchased this specifically for our fire ant problem. After one treatment of our mounds .... nothing. Will try a second application just in case

Thank you for your review. We apologize you have not received the expected results. Remember the rate for Fire ants can vary depending if you are doing a broadcast treatment or mound drenching. For broadcasting the rate is 0.2 to 0.4 lb per acre. For mound drenching the rate is 1/2 cup of granules per mound then pouring 1-2 gallons of water, then also treat 3-4 around the mound. This makes the solutions spread through out the ant tunnels. If you have any other questions please give us call at 866-581-7378.

This is the first time ice ever had to nuke my yard. The neighbor doesn't take care of anything and I ended up with the ants in my trees, killing all my potted plant, I have pine bark mulch and made of a convenient place for any nests. There are outside cats so I treated very lightly the first time hoping to not get them sick. This took care of some, but not most. I then went back a week later and did a thorough job. Had to put it in the pots also. Most of my plants started thriving again. Some didn't like the chemical. But it worked.

I lost aprox 1500+sq ft of yard to chinch bugs this summer. Did a search to find best product and Talstar PL came up first along with DMO site. I talked to CS to be sure I have the right product and to ask about recommended setting for my spreader. CS agent was great and helpful. DMO also had the best price. Shipping was fast and I got the insecticide down quickly. 2 weeks after application I checked for bugs and could not find any. 3 weeks later I started the re-building process and after stripping about 1k sq ft there are no bugs at all, zero of any species. Amazing!

I applied the granules, and I was still seeing chinch bugs the next day...and still seeing them a week later. I then applied the liquid, and have not seen a chinch bug, since. I have not yet written a review of the liquid. That I have not seen any more chinch bugs does not necessarily mean they ain't there. I'll wait a while, and if my grass starts to recover and I see no chinch bugs (or the converse), then I'll write a review of the liquid. I'm cautiously optimistic.

I bought for tick control. So far they have gotten worse. Maybe after my third application it will be better.

Thank you for your feedback! I used to control pests around my house with Diazanon but since they took it off the market I can't get it. Last year the giant sewer roaches were getting in my house and I couldn't seal the house up enough.... Finally found Talstar PL Granules. No more roaches! It did however, make my St Bernard sick...and I was really careful around his water and food. I spread about a 12' wide band of Talstar around the foundation of my house and all the bugs seem to be dead in that band... I love this stuff! No odor and not dusty! I even dissolved some in a hose end sprayer and sprayed it on my vegetable garden. Horn worms were destroying my tomato plants but the spray killed them, now I have the best tomatoes (wash them real good before eating) Now when I walk in the yard
