    Q
I bought, Archer IGR, Nygard IGR and Talstar P. Can I mix these all together?
    A

Depending on what you are treating for, you may definitely use the Talstar P and your choice of IGR with it. It is not necessary for you to mix two IGR's with the Talstar P.  Either NyGuard or Archer IGR and Talstar can be mixed into the same gallon of water and sprayed for control of Fleas, Stored Product Pests, listed Roaches (German, Asian, and Brown-banded), Crickets, Litter Beetles, and Flying Insects.

Talstar P (Talstar One) is safe to use around horses when used as directed. We recommend to dilute at 1oz per gallon water and apply to the perimeter of the structure and cracks and crevices. Keep any animals out of the treated area until dried. This can take 1-2 hours.

  • Asked by Abigail from Arizona
    01/10/2017
    Q
Is Talstar P the best spray to use along with a gel bait for roaches?
    A

While Talstar P is labeled for roaches, it is not generally recommended as there can be resistancy issues within a roach population with a product like this. We would recommend using a product like Temprid SC instead. Temprid SC has two active ingredients in it to combat a roach infestations, and doesn't have the resistancy issues that a product with only one active ingredient might have.  You may want to look over our Roach Control Guide for more information on treating and preventing roaches.

    A

Talstar P is a great choice for general pest control. Keep in mind that earthworms are beneficial and will not be listed on any insecticide labels. Another excellent option for a climate with very hot summers would be Suspend Polyzone, which is encapsulated in a polymer layer for better longevity in heat and sunlight. • Asked by Emmanuel from Loganville, Ga
    10/26/2016
    Q
    Does Talstar P kill termites?
    A

Talstar P is labeled to treat for termites and lasts for about 5 years in the ground and works as a repellent, killing only those insects that come into contact with the treated area. A better option for subterranean termites non repellent termiticide such as Termidor SC or Dominion 2L. Termidor will last up to to 10 years in the soil and Dominion 2L will last 5-7 years. Non repellents work slower but much more effectively when treating a termite colony as they are able to be transferred thorought the entire colony therefore eventually elimating the colony. Talstar P will only repel the termites, not kill the entire colony.

  • Asked by Wilson from Los Angeles, Ca
    10/12/2016
    Q
How exactly does Talstar P work?
Do bugs eat it this product after it dries up or they walk over it and die?
    A

Talstar P is a liquid concentrate insectide which contains bifenthrin, a synthetic pyrethroid. Pyrethroids works by disrupting an insect's nervous system causing a weakend state followed by death. Talstar P does not provide an instant knockdown of pests, rather, pests pick up the residual active ingredient by contact, Talstar P is a repellent insecticide since it acts quickly enough that social insects such as ants cannot create a pheromone trail. This mean that Talstar P will be most effective as a barrier with a thorough application. Talstar P residual last up to 3 months.

  • Asked by Charles from Raleigh, Nc
    10/07/2016
    Q
Can Talstar P kill fruit flies?
    A

Unfortunately, Talstar P is not labeled to treat for fruit flies. Getting rid of fruit flies doesn't have to be diffucult. The most important step is to be sure that you discard or refrigerate any ripe produce as insects are naturally drawn to overripe, rotting, and spoled produce. Regularly rinse out and clean gargabe cans and recycling bins. Most times doing these small little things will take care of the problem. However, should you need to use a product to help you get rid of them one of the best ways to kill fruit flies is to use a fuit fly trap like the Vector 960 Furit Fly Trap. These have attractants in them that attract the fruit flies to them, and once they are inside they cannot get out. You can also use an aerosol product to help with the populations as well like 565 Plus XLO

  • Asked by Paul from Eugene, Or
    10/05/2016
    Q
Will Talstar P treat fruit flies?
Fruit flies! Eighteen indoor plants must be causing this...
    A

Unfortunately, Talstar P is not labeled to treat fruit flies. Fruit flies are attracted to rotten or fermented fruit and vegetables not house plants. However, they can also make homes in drains, garbage disposals, mop buckets, garbage cans, and recycle bins. Even something as small as spilled juice under your refrigerator can be a home for them; all they need is a thin layer of organic material.

Getting rid of fruit flies doesn' t have to be difficult. Cleaning up is the most important step in getting rid of them because they are naturally drawn to overripe, rotting, or spoiled produce. Therefore, merely throwing out such items or storing them in the refrigerator or sealed containers will lead to a drastic decline in the number of fruit flies, even without any further action on your part. Also, regularly rinsing out your garbage cans and recycle bins.

There are several different priduct you can use to get rid of fruit flies. Beccause they are flying insects, one of the best ways to kill fruit flies in your house is to use a fruti fly trap like the Vector 960 Fruti Fly Trap. Besides fruit fly traps, there are many different fruit fly sprays that will aid you in killing them as well such as 565 Plus XLO

If you are only seeing flies around the indoor plants, then you may actually have fungus gnats, for which you could treat the plants with Talstar P. The most important step to eliminating fungus gnats is to avoid over-watering the plants, and to allow soil to dry out to reduce their food source and breeding environment.

  • Asked by Scott from Raleigh, Nc
    09/23/2016
    Q
Will Talstar P control white flies in my bermudagrass?
I use talstar in the mixture of 1 ounce per gallon, however this does not control the white flies living in my bermuda grass. I spray no more than once every 4 weeks depending on rainfall.
    A

According to the Talstar P label to treat Whiteflies you may apply 1oz / gallon of water and repeat as necessary to maintain control. In addition to a foliar spray (Talstar P), using a systemic such as Adonis 2F to control whiteflies prooves to be effective.
