    Q
Is there residue transfer of Tempo SC Ultra?
I have had Tempo SC sprayed 1 month ago. I know the residue is safe when dry. Will the residue contaminate other items eg kitchen sink, crockery, cutlery, food containers clothes etc if the mops and cloths used to clean areas of the house that were treated are washed in the sink? If so will regular soap, dishwasher, washing machine remove the residue or do I need a chemical strength cleaner?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra should not be applied to these items and the residual left behind would not be picked up by items that contact a treated area. Contaminated items or surfaces should be washed thoroughly using an appropriate cleaner for those items.

    Q
Can Tempo SC Ultra be applied on furniture and furnishings?
Our home was recently sprayed with Tempo SC. Some of the furnishings eg beds curtains etc may have come in contact with the the solution. Are the surfaces safe when dry or should they be discarded? How long does the residue remain on the surfaces before its completely gone? When dry does it pose a hazard to children or pets during the time the residue remains in our home? Thanks
    A

Tempo SC is safe to use indoors when applied as a crack and crevice treatment according to the instructions on the product label. This is a residual insecticide that should not be applied to personal items like bedding or resting areas of furniture. If you think clothing or bedding may be contaminated, then you would want to wash these items before use. It is fine for people and pets to re-enter the treatment area after the application is dry.

    Q
Is Tempo Ultra SC better than Demand CS?
I have been using Demand CS for periodic pest control, and the result is good. Now I am looking into other alternatives that is more powerful than Demand CS. I am kind of looking into getting the Tempo Ultra SC this time. Does it work the same as Demand CS with more power? What are the major differences between the two?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra and Demand CS contain different active ingredients, but both are classified as a synthetic pyrethroid, so they really are very similar in the way that they work and the pests that they will control.  One is not necessarily better or stronger than the other.

    Q
Will Tempo SC Ultra kill boxelder bugs?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra is labeled for boxelder bugs and gives specific instructions for  treating them. Apply directly to boxelder bugs that have congregated around doors and windows and similar areas where they may enter structures. Apply perimeter treatment as described above. For best results, treat infested trees early in the season.

The treatment should begin before temperatures drop and pests start searching for places to harbor for the winter. Once the bugs have moved into your attic to overwinter you will have limited results with sprays as they will hide in cracks and crevices there and getting to all of  these is rare. Your first treatment should be in August, before the weather begins to cool, and continue through November or until the first frost of the Fall. The best treatment for overwintering pests is preventative treatment.

  • Asked by Skye from Texas
    10/19/2017
    Q
Will Tempo SC Ultra keep ticks out of the house?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra is not a true "repellent," so it will not keep insects such as ticks away.  The only way to do this would be to seal up all cracks and crevices that allow them access inside.  Tempo can be used as a barrier spray to help kill ticks that come into contact with treated surfaces.  Please take a few moments to review our article on How to Get Rid of Ticks for more detailed information on how to implement a successful control program for this pest.

    Q
Will Tempo SC Ultra treat fire ants?
    A

Yes, Tempo SC Ultra can be used as a mound drench for fire ants.  It will eliminate the colony and any ant that comes into contact with where you sprayed or poured the product.  If you have a severe infestation of fire ants, however, we suggest that you use a product that targets this pest more specifically, such as Extinguish Plus Fire Ant Bait.  You may also want to look over our Fire Ant Treatment Guide for more information.
