    Q
How long does it take to kill stink bugs with Tempo SC Ultra?
    A
How long it takes to eliminate the stinkbug after they come into contact Tempo SC Ultra will depend on a couple of different factors. The longer the Tempo SC Ultra has been in place, the longer it takes the insect to die. For instance, if a stinkbug were to land on an area that had been treated within a day or so the insect would be dead within a few hours. If another insect were to contact that same area a couple of weeks later, it could take 24 hours for it to die. Another factor is how long the insect stays on the treated area. The insect has to be there long enough to pick up a lethal dose which could take several minutes or longer depending how long the product has been in place. You should treat once a month through November for the best results.

    Q
Is Tempo SC Ultra resistant to rain?
I will be spraying my siding for stink bugs, and it will have time to dry. It will eventually rain. Since it is water based, will it just wash away? If so, can you recommend another product?
    A
Tempo SC Ultra will hold up to rain just fine.  All of the professional grade liquid products that we sell are made to stick to porous surfaces.  What really breaks down the residual of products is UV sunlight.  The side of your home that is in direct sunlight most of the day is much more of an issue than rain.  Since stink bugs are so bad right now, we are recommending treating every 3 to 4 weeks with Tempo SC Ultra.  Typically, Tempo SC Ultra should last a good 60 days around most parts of your home.

    Q
Can I use Tempo SC Ultra in a hose end sprayer for Chiggers?
What is the mix ratio for Tempo SC Ultra for use in a hose end sprayer? Is this a good insecticide for Chiggers?
    A
You should apply Tempo SC Ultra at a rate of 8 ml of Tempo per 1000 square feet.  The amount of water depends on how much you need to apply the 8 ml over the area of 1000s square feet.  It can be mixed with a few gallons of water, or 10 gallons of water, just as long as the 8 ml is applied over the 1000 square feet.

    Q
Can I spray Tempo SC on my horse, 15 years ago, I used to use it on all my livestock.
    A
Tempo SC can not be sprayed on any type of animal. Tempo SC is labeled to use in cracks and crevices in the barn or housing area but it is not labeled to be used on the animals themselves. We do carry Riptide and Permethrin SFR, both of which are labeled to be used on horses.

    Q
Will Tempo kill a rose chafer? Does this product work directly to insects or do they have to ingest the leaves?
I have these beetles that appear to be an infestation. When I look them up on the internet, they appear to look like a rose chafer beetle. A flowered shrub was littered with them and now they are moving to a newly planted river birch and are eating up the foliage. I applied Tempo already and let dry, it has since rained, but the beetles keep coming in swarms. How often can I apply this product. It works great, but the beetles just keep coming, I don't want to over spray and kill my new tree.
    A
Tempo should not hurt the bush at all and is commonly used on turf and ornamentals.  You can spray the tree/shrub as often as needed.  The Tempo does not kill the bugs when they ingest the leaves, it just kills them by touch and when the beetles land on a leaf they pick up the product on their bodies.  The plant should not absorb the product due to the waxy coating on the leaves.

    Q
How long after a rain do I need to wait to apply Tempo SC?
I'm hosting a party and want to spray my yard. It rained overnight and could possibly rain in the afternoon before the party. Wondering if the product will still work or if it is better to wait.
    A
Tempo SC Ultra will hold up very well in the rain, but you just need to apply it when it is not going to rain for about 3 to 4 hours so it has time to dry and set.

    Q
Can I use Tempo SC Ultra to control garden pests? Is it safe? Is there a Tempo that is safe for a garden?
    A

We do carry a full line of products that can be used on fruits and vegetables. Simply type the name of the plant into our search function (top left hand side of page) on our home page and click GO. The search will return the most relevant products and you will be able to compare the products and decide which would work best for your needs.

    Q
We have fleas in our chicken coop and was wondering if I can spray Tempo SC Ultra in the coop?
If I can, how long after I spray do I have to wait until letting the chickens back in? Can I spray before I clean it (to keep from getting fleas myself) and then spray again after I clean it?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra is labeled for use in and around poultry houses, however you cannot apply it inside the living space of the chickens.  The only product we have that is labeled for use inside and all around coops is Riptide.  It is usually meant for ULV fogging or misting systems, but can be used in pressurized sprayer and applied inside poultry houses. It can even be applied to the chickens themselves to help with poultry fleas and mites.

    Q
Does Tempo SC Ultra kill mosquitoes?
I live next to a creek and the mosquitoes are terrible. I cannot even leave the house because they swarm all over you. Help!!
    A
Tempo SC Ultra is labeled for mosquitoes and will do a great job helping you control this pest. You will need to take special care that you do not get any Tempo SC Ultra into the creek as this product is toxic to fish and other aquatic animals. Apply Tempo SC Ultra according to page 6 of the product label on trees, bushes, shrubs and other foliage in your yard being sure that you are spraying the underside of the leaves where mosquitoes like to spend the heat of the day.

    Q
Spraying on ground under tomato plant that has tomato on vine with Tempo SC Ultra. Can you eat the tomato?
Do I need to pull up the plant or pick all green tomatoes?
    A
You should not eat any fruit or vegetable that comes into contact with Tempo SC Ultra. We do not recommend treating within such a close proximity to the plants. Applications should be kept far enough away from the plants as to avoid contact with the foliage, and with the root system.

    Q
Does Tempo SC Ultra work on flies
MY house has become infested with flies. My friend used this product for the Asian beetle and said she never saw another bug after that. She gave me the bottle to try to get rid of my fly problem.
    A
Tempo SC Ultra is labeled for flies. It is important for you to read the product label and follow the directions for indoor applications for fly control. We urge you to get the flies identified so that you can figure out the source so you can stop this pest from gaining entry to your home in the future. You can contact your local cooperative extension office and ask to speak to the entomologist on staff to request an insect identification.
