    Q
Is Tempo SC Ultra safe to use around dogs and in the house?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra is considered a general use insecticide and is labeled for outside and inside use. It is odorless, and very safe to use around children or pets. The general rule is that while spraying you keep children or pets in another room or outside to play. After about one hour it should be dry and it is perfectly safe to allow kids and/or pets back in the room. This product is only strong enough to kill tiny insects, and would have no effect on animals when used correctly.

    Q
If I spray Tempo SC Ultra in closets or closed areas, will the fumes kill carpet beetles/larva?
    A
No, Tempo SC Ultra does not have fumes per say.  Its mode of action is a residual film where you apply the product.  If the product comes into contact with a carpet beetle or larvae, it will kill it.  If a carpet beetles or larvae walks or crawls over a surface that was sprayed with Tempo SC Ultra, then it will pick up the residual of the product on itself and die.  We do carry a product called Nuvan Pro Strips which does emit fumes and are for small enclosed areas like a closet.  You can leave the strips for a period of time and it will kill any beetles or larvae that happen to be in the closet.  Please read the product label for full instructions.

    Q
Does Tempo SC Ultra kill biting mites?
    A
Tempo SC Ultra is one of our most popular products for mite control.  However, you do need to take other measures when treating mites such as vacuuming and cleaning up harborage areas.  You have to find and get rid of the source before you can start controlling them.  Please read our article on Mite Control.

    Q
Does Tempo SC Ultra work on spiders?
I live on a lake in N.E. Michigan and I have a terrible spider problem. How does this product do on spiders? How often do you have to repeat the application?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra works well on spiders as do most of our liquid concentrate sprays.  If a spider is present when you spray, it will die very quickly.  This product will leave a 30 - 60 day residual, so you should apply every 30 - 60 day's based on activity that you see.

    Q
How effective is Tempo SC Ultra for an indoor roach problem?
    A

All of our liquid insecticides would be considered effective for an indoor roach problem.  However, most roach problems in a kitchen, which are usually German Roaches, are best eradicated using a liquid spray like Tempo SC Ultra down low near the ground around baseboards, under and behind appliances, where pipes go into the walls or below cabinets, etc; and a roach bait gel up high in the drawers and the cabinets where you normally would not spray.  You do not want to spray around dishes, utensils, and food sources, so roach bait is best used in these areas.  Plus, most roach baits will kill other roaches like a domino effect back in the walls where you cannot treat, where as liquid sprays will typically only kill the roach that actually walks over it.

    Q
Will Tempo SC hurt my fish or my dog?
    A
    Yes,

Tempo SC Ultra like any other insecticide can be very lethal to fish.  It would be advised to apply the product on a day that is not windy, and possibly even holding up a sheet of plastic on the other side of where you are spraying to protect overspray from going towards the pond.  Also, apply on a day when it is not going to rain so the product has time to dry and bond to its surface so it does not run off.  As far as your dog, this product is very safe to use around children and pets such as dogs or cats.  Just make sure to allow the product to dry before letting the dog or children back into the yard or wherever you are spraying.

    Q
Does Tempo SC Ultra kill spiders?
    A

Yes, Tempo SC Ultra is labeled to kill spiders.  Spiders are very difficult to control and most residual insecticides like Tempo SC Ultra will kill any spider that it is physically sprayed on, but new spiders entering the area are very difficult for any insecticide to control.  This is because spiders bodies are high off of the ground and they do not groom their legs like other insects do.  How these products mainly control spiders is that they kill the spiders prey (other insects), and if there is no food around, then the spiders will either starve to death or move on. Please check out our article/videos here on a successful program for spiders.

    Q
How do I use Tempo SC Ultra and will it hurt my plants?
I have a millipede problem. They seem to be coming out at night from my mulched areas around my in ground pool. I find many in the pool every morning.
    A

Tempo SC Ultra is a great product for millipedes as well as many other insects. Tempo SC Ultra. It is labeled for use on plants and is not known to cause damage to healthy plants. Millipedes need moisture to survive, and they prefer hanging out in dark damp places, which is why they hang out in the mulch and are attracted to the pool and the basement. A good barrier spray around the mulch beds and around the house will help. However, the main issue is the moisture. If you can eliminate some of the moisture issues, then you will minimize the harborage areas for the millipedes. Some ways of doing this are to make sure all shrubbery and bushes are cut back from the house at least two feet. Also, rake back any mulch against the house in flower beds at least 6 inches. This will let the ground dry up against the house and there will be less likely of a chance the millipedes will want to go towards the dry area. If you re-mulch every year and don’t clean out the old mulch, then this is also a problem. You should remove some of the mulch near the pool and house, and eventually consider replacing with a ground cover that doesn't’t hold moisture down as much as mulch, such as pine straw or even better, decorative rock that stays for years and lets the ground breathe.
