I have an Herbicide hose sprayer an I am wondering how many teaspoons per gallon it should be set to when mixing Tenacity and Turflon Ester. If I did my math right, Tenacity should be applied at .5tsp per gallon and Turflon at 1tsp per gallon for 1000sqft. 1. Should I dilute the Tenacity with an equal amount of water so that there is a 50/50 mix and matches the 1tsp/g rate of Turflon Ester? In other words, should I mix 1tsp Tenacity with 1tsp water and 1tsp Turflon Ester? 2. Should the rate applied actually be 2 tsp/gallon if Turflon Ester and Tenacity are a 50/50 mix so 1tsp of each product is being applied?
The Tenacity Herbicide cannot be used in a hose end sprayer for weed control and when mixing with other herbicides, and isn't recommended as a method of application for that product in general. The manufacturer of Tenacity recommends using it as a spot treatment for existing weeds for best results, as broadcast spraying is typically less effective on certain species. A tank sprayer would be needed to properly mix and evenly apply the Tenacity mixed with Turflon Ester and the non ionic surfactant Tenacity needs for post emergent treatments. You did not state what weeds you are targeting specifically for us to give a more detailed answer regarding timing, reapplications, and checking mix rates of each.
