    Q
Will Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide damage fruits, vegetables and trees?
When mixing Trimec 992 per the proper instructions (e.g., 1.5 fl oz / gallon of water) can I spray grass at the base of fruit trees (as long as I'm careful to allow any over spray to touch the tree) without damaging the tree? Same question for grape vines, etc.
    A

Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide should not be used around any edibles or desirable ornamentals, such as trees. It should be used at least 3 feet away from the drip zone of your fruit trees and/or grape vines.

    Q
What is the mixture of Trimec 992 to spray directly on dandelions?
    A
The mixture ratio of Trimec 992 really depends on what type of grass your are treating in. For spot treatments you would apply at a rate of 1.5 fl. oz. per 1,000 sq. ft.

    Q
What liquid fertilizers are compatible to be applied with Trimec 992? I am looking for cost effective options.
I purchased a jug of Trimec 992 from you last week, and after reading the label info, I saw that it can be applied with compatible liquid fertilizers. I have a large 2 acre lawn (3 acre lot) and would like to apply the herbicide with an effective, low cost fertilizer at the same time. Thank you!
    A
Our Coron-18-3-6 is an effective fertilizer and is compatible with most herbicides, fungicides and insecticides. The coverage of the Coron is roughly 22 ounces per 1000 sq/ft, but the exact dilution will vary by lawn type. You can refer to the product label for more specific usage recommendations and for compatibility you can check with the manufacturers of Coron and Trimec 992. Coron is made by Helena Chemical: 1-901-761-0050 and Trimec 992 is made by PBI Gordon: 1-800-821-7925.

    Q
How do I set my Ortho hose-end sprayer to apply Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide?
    A

When dealing with herbicides the amount of water you use isn't very important as water just acts the carrier. You just need to make sure you are getting the correct amount of product over the recommended amount of space. We would recommend using 1.5 fl oz of Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide in 1 gallon of water over 1,000 sq ft to help make the application a little easier to figure out. You will need to select 1.5 oz on your dial if it pulls that amount per gallon based on your setting.

  • Asked by Greg from Rochester Mn
    05/20/2013
    Q
what is the mixture ratio to use in a 25 gallon sprayer?
    A
There is not going to be an exact mixture ratio for that amount of water. When spraying an herbicide, the amount of water is not what is key. You need to make sure you are getting the correct amount of product over the correct amount of area. You will need to refer to the product label for how much you should be using for your type of lawn as is varies from one turf to the next. If the label states to use 1.2 ounces per 1000 sq/ft then you need to use the 1.2 ounces, in however much water it takes you to cover that much area. If doing a side by side comparison, the speed at which you are moving and we would be moving to treat 1000 sq/ft will most likely be different. It may take you only 2 gallons of water to cover the area being treated, and it may take us 5 gallons. Both are correct and both of us would mix the 1.2 ounces in with the water. If you have any further questions please let us know.

    Q
How low a temperature will Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide be effective?
    A

When using Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide the tempuratures would need to be above freezing, and the weeds would need to be actively growing in order for the product to work effectively. Most post-emergent herbicides such as Trimec will be most effective when temperatures are around 65-80 degrees.

  • Asked by Paul from Dayton, Ohio
    05/16/2013
    Q
    Trimec 992 or EndRun?
Hello. I thought I asked this a few hours ago, but I don't think it got sent. I just bought a house with a big yard (10,500 sq ft front, 7,500 back). Both yards have tons of weeds, many of which I can't even identify. There are dandelions, plantain, thistles and clovers, plus many creeping weeds that I'm not familiar with. Some have flowers: purple, white & yellow. I've tried Weed-B-Gone and Anime 2,4-D. After a month, some dandelions are wilted but the rest are barely phased. So I'm looking at Trimec 992 and EndRun but don't know which one to get. I can't afford both. Which would be best for my problem? Or is there another product you'd recommend? And what would be the mixing ratio of oz to gallon for spot-treating lawns? I read their labels and it's not addressed. Thank you very much!
    A
Both Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide and EndRun are terrific Post emergent herbicides.
Since some of the weeds are not identified, we recommend contacting the local extension office and speaking with the master gardener. The master gardener wil be able to help identify and suggest specific products that work well in your area.

    Q
Can I mix Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide with RoundUp?
    A

Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide and Roundup have different molecular makeups and are labeled for different treatments. Trmiec is a selective weed control and the latter is a non-selective, so you probably don't want to use them in the same areas. Please provide your targeted weeds and treatment area for further recommendations.
