Trying to get rid of and prevent boxelder bugs.

I have a lot of boxelder bugs that have infested my yard, even though I don't have any boxelder trees. I have found the end of last year, there were a lot of them hanging out in my trees. Would this product in a fogger be a good option to get into the trees? I have some larger trees, and I am not sure how to spray them with my backpack sprayer. I am using Suspend, per your recommendation, around my house to help with the bugs, but not sure how to get that into my trees. Thanks for your help

Answer:

Yes, Shockwave can be used to treat boxelder bugs from trees. However, per the label, you cannot apply it to any fruit, nut-bearing trees, plants, shrubs, or vines. All outdoor applications are limited to building surfaces & spot treatments on structures.

We do suggest using Suspend SC if spraying any foliage or grass, and it definitely helps to apply a surfactant along with it, which helps the product stick to the waxy layer on the leaves, bushes, shrubs, and grass, which will improve results. If using Suspend SC, you will use .25-1.5 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft, and treatments may be applied at 21-day intervals or as necessary to maintain adequate control. For surfactant, you will use 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of spray or 8 ounces per 100 gallons of spray.
