    Q
How much diatomaceous earth do I feed pets, and how often do I use it to get rid of fleas and ticks?
    A

Keep in mind that not all diatomaceous earth products are labeled for use on pets or as a supplement for them. We sell Urthpet Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth which can be used on listed pets and as a dietary supplement. Each 5 oz. bottle lasts approximately 30 days as a supplement. We do sell additional Flea products for use on animals, which you can browse here

Please take a few moments to review our Flea Treatment Guide for more tips and information. We do not recommend relying on diatomaceous earth alone for effective flea and tick control.

    Q
Does Urthpet Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth contain an IGR?
Does it kill fleas and ticks on dogs? Is it SAFE? Pyrethrins are derived from the chrysanthemum flower. That is also organic. Comparatively speaking how is your product more effective than pyrethrins? Methoprene is an IGR which is a sterilization for many insects. How truthfully effective is yours? Thanks
    A

Urthpet Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth does not contain an IGR and does not kill any insects.  It contains Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth and minerals to help improve health when ingested and is safe when used as directed.  Pyrethrin products are natural insecticides that only kill on contact but do work good when done. We do carry a few methropene products and they have been proven to be very effective as part of an indoor only flea/tick treatment program.
