    Must you use a cleaning solution with the Vaporetto Smart Mop, or can you clean with just water?

    The Vaporetto Smart Mop only uses water, steam, and pressure, which work together to dislodge grease and dirt from every corner of the home.  This is a steam cleaner with a high pressure boiler that effectively cleans a wide range of surfaces quickly and naturally.

    How do I relieve the pressure to remove the cap from the Vaporetto Smart Mop?
    I tried to use product, only hot water came out, .no steam. I have waited an hour and cannot remove the cap. Instructions dau to relieve the pressure. His do I do that?
    A

    Per the manufacturer, the Vaporetto Smart Mop takes roughly 20 minutes to heat enough to let the steam build up.  Then when you start mopping a tiny bit of water will come out followed by the steam.  The safety cap will not unscrew if there is any pressure at all in the boiler, even when the appliance is turned off. I would suggest that you unplug the machine and wait at least 15 – 20 minutes until it completely cools down, and then the cap will come right off.

    What happens to the dirt the Vaporetto Smart Mop collects?
    Is there a tank that vacuums up the dirt?

    The Vaporetto Smart Mop is a steam cleaner only, not a vacuum.  It does not suck up any dirt.

    The Vaporetto Smart Mop would kill any bed bugs that come into direct contact with the steam.  Keep in mind that this should not be the sole product used for bed bug control.  Please take a look at our Bed Bug Guide for more treatment information.

    Where do you put the water into the Vaporetto Smart Mop?

    To fill the Vaporetto Smart Mop with water, unscrew safety cap and fill the boiler with water. This information can be found on page 10 of the user manual.

    My Vaporetto Smart Mop suddenly turned off and won't turn back on. I've tried other outlets and nothing.

    How can I reset the Vaporetto Smart Mop? The green light indicating water is hot comes on immediately upon powering on but the boiler motor does not start.
    When I pull the trigger, the green light turns off and the boiler comes on. When I release the trigger, the green light comes back on after a few seconds and the boiler shuts off. It's like the unit is working backwards.

    We apologize you are having trouble with your Vaporetto Smart Mop. When looking through their User Manual, we can see on page 10 it starts talking about "Proper Use of the Product", and it does mention there is a normal process of the green light coming on and off as you use it and being a normal process. You can also see mention of this in the Troubleshooting section of the manual further down.

    We would recommend reading through that section to see if you can find the answers you are looking for. If your unit is still not working or you have additional questions, you can each the manufacturer Polti directly at 888-997-6584.
