Unfortunately, these traps did nothing. I know for certain that I have the varied carpet beetle, but not one goes near the trap-not a Single one. Disappointing to have spent almost a hundred bucks on what did nothing.

I know we have varied carpet beetles, I've seen them but never in these incredibly expensive traps.

Thank you for your comments! We are sorry that you have not seen the results you desired from the traps you received. These traps are designed to attract the adult carpet beetles when using the included lures. You may have difficulty catching adults if you are near the end of an infestation and are seeing mostly only the larvae. Please let us know if you have further questions.

After a carpet beetle infestation last year I put these up around the house to see if I had effectively prevented them this year. They worked exactly as described to help locate the areas that needed more cleaning and treatment. Trapped a half dozen in one area that I thought might need more treatment--they're definitely effective! Only complaint is I wish the traps came in packs fewer than ten.

Trapped adult male Varied Carpet Beetles as described. Placed traps in sunny elevated areas (on windowsills and near attic vent) during early springtime and caught several insects even in areas that had been thoroughly cleaned and sprayed with hydroprene (Gentrol IGR) the previous fall. Trapped over a dozen specimen in the attic. Glue was strong enough to catch a small mouse. Not a 100% solution, but I'm buying more this spring anyway.
