Taurus SC provides excellent control and elimination of ant infestations.  Containing the active ingredient fipronil, Taurus can control carpenter ants, crazy ants, odorous house ants, pavement ants, pharoah ants, and more.  We'll show you how easy it is to kill and prevent ants from returning using Taurus SC around the perimeter of your home or business.

Taurus is a non-repellent insecticide, meaning it is undetectable to pests like ants.  As a non-repellent, ants will crawl over the insecticide, picking up the active ingredient on their bodies and carrying it back to their colony.  Once back in their colony, the exposed ant spreads and transfers the Taurus SC to other ants throughout the entire colony.  This transfer effect means you'll start seeing the effect on ants in one to three days.

Before getting started, put on your personal protective equipment, including long-sleeves, long pants, socks, closed-toe shoes and chemical-resistant gloves.

To mix Taurus SC, fill a 1-gallon sprayer one fourth (1/4) to one third (1/3) full of water while wearing your PPE. Then, add 0.4 to 0.8 ounces of Taurus to the sprayer. Place the cap on the sprayer and shake to mix.  Finish filling the sprayer with water to make 1 gallon of finished spray solution. Replace the sprayer lid and shake well to finish combining.

Except in the state of California, Taurus SC can be applied 4 times per calendar year using the 0.4 ounce rate, 2 times per year using the 0.8 ounce rate, or 2 times per year at the 0.4 ounce rate and 1 time at the 0.8 ounce rate.  In California, only the 0.4 ounce rate up to four times per year can be used.

Apply Taurus SC outside around the foundation of the structure to control ants in and around your home or business.  The best time to apply Taurus is on a calm day, when there is no wind, and when rain is not expected for 24 to 48 hours before or after the treatment.

Start by spraying a barrier around the foundation of the building using a coarse spray.  While walking around the perimeter, apply a continual band that extends up the foundation wall 1 foot, and out 1 foot from the foundation onto the ground.  In California, the barrier spray can only be applied 6 inches up and 6 inches out from where the ground meets the foundation.

Taurus SC should also be applied around windows, door frames, where pipes and utility cable wires enter, other holes or openings into the structure, and any other place you've noticed ants trailing on the structure.  Treat these areas with a low-pressure coarse spray up to 18 inches in width.  Taurus should not be applied as a broadcast spray.

Do not allow people, pets, or children into the treatment area until the spray has dried. Be sure to read the product label for full application instructions to get rid of ants with Taurus SC.
