What can be used to trap raccoon's that wont also lure cats into the trap?

The raccoon comes up on the porch when the cats are eating and doesn't even phase the cats. He's set the trap off once, baited with tuna which he ate but escaped the trap. I don't want trap/release the cats all day so what can I use to lure only the raccoon into the trap so I can release him to a wooded area.

Answer:

Unfortunately, there is no information stating if the Wilco Raccoon Lure (91004) would also attract other animals such as cats. This lure bait is designed and intended for raccoons only.  Unfortunately, since raccoons and cats can be similar in size, most of the raccoon traps on the market that are designed to trap raccoons may also catch cats that try to enter. There are 4 Steps to getting rid of raccoon pests. When it comes to getting rid of raccoons, the only proven way to get rid of a raccoon is through preventing access, limiting food sources, and trapping and removal. View our How to Get Rid of Raccoons Article for more tips. Another option would be to possibly contact wild life /animal control for help removing the raccoon(s) from the property.
