What can I use to treat my honeysuckle plant for powdery mildew?

A local nursery recommended spraying it with copper fungicide. Hummingbirds are taking advantage of early blossoms. Will this product harm them?

Answer:

While we do have several copper fungicides which are labeled to treat powdery mildew, none are specifically labeled for honeysuckleWe would recommend a product like Eagle 20EW, which is specifically labeled to apply to honeysuckle for powdery mildewIt should not harm hummingbirds if used as directedIdeally, you would want to apply at a time when there are no birds in the area until the product has had time to dry.
