What is the best dust for treating spiders (including brown recluse)?

Considering only the active ingredients of Delta Dust (Deltamethrin 0.05%), Drione (Pyrethrins 1.0%, Piperonyl Butoxide 10.0%, Amorphous Silica Gel 40.0%), Tempo (Cyfluthrin 1%) or Cynoff Dust (Zeta-Cypermethrin 0.075%, Piperonyl Butoxide 0.150%) - which might be the most effective overall against spiders? Each appear to be labeled for spiders in general, but I noticed Cynoff specifically excludes brown recluse spiders; do you know if this is because the active ingredient is not effective against brown recluse spiders? Are there particular ingredients that work better on brown recluse spiders? And can you offer any special recommendations or other information for using dusts against spiders in general?

Answer:

All dusts pretty much work the same way and all are OK on spiders.  But the inherent problem is that spiders are hard to kill because they do not groom themselves.  Unlike other insects that walk over dust, get it on their legs, and then groom themselves, spiders do not groom their legs and therefore do not ingest the dust as easily.  For this reason, glue boards and sprays are typically used more often.  We have a Spider Control Kit that is very popular for brown recluse spiders and all spiders in general that we would recommend.
