What is the best pre-emergent for weed control on a crushed granite yard?

I live in the Phoenix, AZ area and my yard is crushed granite with a some trees, bushes and cacti, which I don't want to harm. I'm assuming a liquid application would be the best -- is that correct?

Surflan Pro is often the pre-emergent product of choice for this type of landscape. You will need about 3 fl oz of Surflan per 1,000 sq ft area. Be sure you review the product label to make sure your desirable plants are listed as being tolerant to the product.
