William from Brandon, Ms writes

What is the best spraying strategy to control Lace Bugs on azaleas? I plan to use a hose end sprayer.

I must have 40-50 azaleas. Some are 4-5 feet tall. Approx 25 were planted in 2014, Was planning to use drench with Imidacloprid but discovered it would be cost prohibitive.

Answer:

Bonide Systemic Insect Control is a very good product for lacebugs. You will use 1 1/2 fl. oz. per gallon of water. You will spray the entire plant, covering both sides of the foliage thoroughly.
