The optimum time to apply the Merit Granules will vary depending on the pest you are treating and region you live in.  You should call your local cooperative extension office.  Almost every county has one and they are the experts in your region for all types of problems and local plant and insect life.   They will let you know when the best time of year to treat is depending on what you are trying to control.
