What is the best way to eliminate an indoor/outdoor flea infestation?

We have no pets.

If you do not have pets, then it is unlikely that you have an indoor flea infestation. While you could occasionally bring in a hitchhiker on a pant leg, fleas would not be able to breed and survive indoors without an animal host such as a dog or cat.
