When dealing with herbicides the amount of water you use isn't very important as water just acts the carrier. You just need to make sure you are getting the correct amount of product over the recommended amount of space. We would recommend using 1.5 fl oz of Trimec in 1 gallon of water over 1,000 sq ft to help make the application a little easier to figure out. Trimec 992 does not require you to add a surfactant.
