What is the width of the Garage Door Rodent Guard?

Our seal is 1" wide and been chewed up to 4.5".Will there be enough to still attach securely?

The Garage Door Rodent Guard measures 6 inches high and would cover the 4.5" opening that you have on your door. You would be able to seal it with the sealing tape that is provided with the guard.
