There are multiple products needed to completely control a roach infestation inside your home. Getting rid of roaches for good will take time and a combination of products.
Hi this is Carly from DoMyOwn.com and today we’re gonna be talking about a wide selection of products for roaches, including baits, sprays, traps, growth regulators, and roach control kits. DoMyOwn’s roach control kits combine the products needed to control a roach infestation in one cost-effective package. Each kit contains tubes of gel bait, insect growth regulators, insecticide spray, and glue traps to monitor your infestation. Different kits allow you to rotate baits as needed. This option also saves you money compared to buying each product individually.
Roach baits are some of the most effective products to control roaches within a home.Bait is placed throughout a kitchen, bathroom, or any other room where cockroach activity has been spotted. Baits are available in gel and granular forms, with gel being the most common. Gel bait is packaged in syringes foreasy application. A plunger or bait gun isused to disperse the gel out of the tube. Gel bait can also be placed on bait plate stations for quick cleanup. And some bait stations are pre-packaged with bait for convenience. Like people, cockroaches have different preferences in food and will be attracted to certain baits over others. If cockroaches are not touching the bait you have placed in your home, you may need to rotate to another bait. Different baits have different attractants for the roaches, but also have different active ingredients to prevent resistance.
Insecticide sprays labeled for cockroachescan help control an infestation and prevent roaches from entering your home. The mixture can be sprayed around the perimeter of your home, around door and window frames, beneath appliances, and in cracks and crevices indoors. Most insecticides are labeled to control other pests, including ants and beetles. This prevents other pest infestations and reduces the numberof pest control products needed. Roaches are communal pests, often interacting with other roaches. When one roach encounters an active ingredient from certain baits or insecticide sprays, they can transfer that chemical to other roaches in the area. This leads to a quick knock-down of a roach infestation within a home. Cockroach insecticides are also available in pre-packaged aerosol cans.
Insect growth regulators, also known as IGRs, prevent roaches from repopulating and stop eggs from hatching. They are essentially birth control for roaches. IGRs are an integral step in a roach control program. Without IGRs, you may knockdown the adult roaches, but their eggs will hatch and continue the infestation.IGRs are available in concentrates, aerosols, and point source stations. They are not effective against adult roaches but should instead be used with insecticides and baits.
Glue traps help to monitor the effectiveness of your roach control program. Place glue boards in the corners of rooms or cabinets where roach activity has occurred. After treatment, you should see fewer roaches on your glueboards. If the roach activity continues or increases several months after treatment, you will know you need to retreat or rotate to a different treatment method.
Keep in mind multiple treatments may be needed due to the level of infestation of roaches in your home. Thank you for watching, please subscribe to our channel and check out ourother videos. Thank you!
