The fire ant killer -- acephate 75% -- can be used as a systemic insecticide in non-food applications but the can's label is not helpful in determining how many teaspoons, for example, to use per gallon of water in various garden applications.
Acephate 75 was reviewed by the EPA and they had to change their product label for only the fire ant uses listed. Any other use would now be considered an "off label" use and we are prohibited from giving directions for off label uses. You most likely can find the old label by searching "Acephate 75 product label" online.
