I have scales on my jasmine and I have used Monterey once a year in the past but this year its not working.
If you have already applied the Monterey Once a Year, and you are still seeing scale populations, then we would recommend pairing that treatment with a topical spray to knockdown the existing insects. Ferti-Lome Triple Action with 70% Neem Oil contains both pyrethrins and neem oil to suffocate and kill insects on leaf surfaces such as scale. Be sure to treat either in the morning or evening and to get thorough coverage of all leaf surfaces, especially the undersides of leaves. If you are concerned about resistance to the imidacloprid because of years of use, then you could switch to a newer active ingredient, dinotefuran, which is found in Safari 20SG and Zylam.
