John from Deer Park, Texas writes

What will get rid of Texas scorpions?

Answer:

Getting rid of Scorpions requires a combination of both chemical and non-chemical measures. Think of non-chemical measures (such as vacuuming, sanitation, harborage removal, and exclusion) as limiting or removing conditions that contribute to the infestation. These measures are largely preventative. The next step is to come in with the real ammunition, chemical pesticides, that do the job of physically wiping out an infestation. We recommend using a product that contains the active ingredient Cypermethrin such as Cyper WP, or a micro-encapsulated liquid concentrate such as Equil Lambda 9.7 CS. These insecticide concentrates are mixed with water and sprayed around the outside perimeter of the home for excellent scorpion control. Equil Lambda 9.7 CS can also be sprayed indoors in select areas (keep indoor spraying to a minimum such as corners, under appliances, behind toilets, under sinks, cracks and crevices, along walls and corners in garages, basements, etc.) Use glueboards in areas of suspected activity to help monitor your progress. We also have a scorpion flashlight that can help you detect scorpions at night. For your convenience we have put all the recommended products together in our Scorpion Control Kit.
