When is the best time to apply Tenacity?

If I were to apply Prodiamine now (end of March), would that prevent crabgrass germination not expected until May as well as allow me to overseed four months from now (end of July)? Or would it be more effective as a crabgrass control if it were applied closer to expected germination season?

Answer:

Tenacity Herbicide should be applied before soil temperatures reach 55 degrees if using as a pre-emergent.  If as a post you would apply when the target weeds are actively growing and healthy. When used at the lowest rates, you can overseed beginning 4 months after application of Prodiamine 65 WDG.  Please see the product label beginning on pg. 13 for complete instructions on overseeding.
