When is the best time to apply Tenacity to kill crabgrass and torpedograss in lower Alabama without killing my lawn?

I live in Daphne,AL (36526) here in Deep South and I have one big area that is covered in crabgrass & torpedograss. Products from Lowes only killed the grass but not the weeds. May have been too hot, temps are over 100 degrees during the day. When would be a good time for me to apply Tenacity to kill it off. I don't worry about damaging the grass. I've already done that earlier with that weed killer I applied 2 months ago.

Answer:

Tenacity Herbicide should be applied when temperatures are between 65 to 85 degrees to prevent inujry or burning of turfgrass. During summer/hot months when daytime temperatures reach above 85 degrees, applications should be done in early morning or late afternoon/evening when temps are coolest for the day to help prevent any injury to the lawn. Tenacity Herbicide is not labeled for torpedograss and for crabgrass, it is only going to be effective on newly emerged crabgrass up to the 4th tiller stage. It is not going to eliminate mature crabgrass. A non ionic surfactant is needed for best results when spraying as a post emergent.
