Susan from Laramie, Wy writes

When is the best time to apply to the cottonwoods to kill aphids?

We have aphid pods still left in the tops of the cotton wood trees... I want to hit this as soon as possible and get rid of the aphids.

Answer:

You  can apply the Safari 20SG Systemic Insecticide with Dinotefuran at any time as long as the ground is not frozen or when the plant is dormant. If you are already seeing aphid activity then you can apply right away.
