When is the optimal time of day to spray my yard with the Permethrin 10?

I'm treating my yard for ticks, chiggers, misquitos, gnats, ants, waterbugs and such...when is the best time to spray? And at what ratio? I have a 4 gallon backpack sprayer. And should the chickens be cooped up until product is dry?

Answer:

It is always advised to make your application either in the early morning or early evening time.  You don't ever want to make an application of insecticide or herbicide during mid day when the sun is at its hottest.  You mix the Martins Permethrin 10% at 1.5 ounces of product per 32 ounces of water to treat 400 linear feet with a 6 inch spray pattern.  So in your case you could mix up to 24 ounces of product into your 4 gallons of water in your backpack sprayer.  Keep any animals away from the treated area until the product has time to dry.   1 1/2 oz. in 1 quart of water, treating 400 linear feet with a 6-inch spray band
