Why does the Summit Mosquito Bits label say "Also controls fungus gnats"?

The answer to a previous question stated that the Mosquito Bits are only for Mosquito control?

Answer:

We contacted the manufacturer, and they have recently added Fungus Gnats to their Mosquito Bits Label. You will be treating the soil with the Mosquito granules and when you water the granules in. This will release the active ingredient BTI into the soil so when the fungus gnat larvae feeds on the treated soil they will die.
