I had applied Milky Spore Lawn Spreader Mix twice before and watered it in and the material seemed to dissolve away into the soil. My third and most recent application I watered it in and the white granules are still all over my lawn and will not break down. Does this mean its defective or not working? Do I need to water it more?
Per the manufacturer, the white granules you are seeing are just the clay carrier used to distribute the Milky Spore on the ground. The spores are not wrapped in the clay carrier, just mixed in with it, so the spores are still being distributed on the lawn and will control the grubs. Sometimes the type of clay carrier they use for a particular batch may not break down with watering but this should not affect the actual spores in any way as long as the application instructions on the product label were followed.
