Gophers Gone
By Jack on 05/25/2016
I had multiple mounds in my back yard. I was able to locate 2 or 3 tunnels around each and deposited the granules in them. It's been a good two weeks and no new mounds. A week after I first applied it I did find two small mounds in my front yard so I applied it there the same way. That's been 7-10 days and no new signs. I really like that the granules are about the size of small seeds so that they easily fall into the hole. The bait I was using before was about the size of a pea and would sometime get hung up in the grass. We have a small dog so I had to be very careful to make sure nothing remained on the surface. So far, so good.

Gopher, gopher, gone!
By Jeffery on 09/22/2017
I tried several ways to run my yard of gophers. They seem to multiply when I see a multi-feed bait over a week. Instead of seeing fewer mounds I saw more. I switched to Wilco Zinc and applied it when three new mounds appeared. It seem several weeks and there are not new mounds.

Inundated early in the season
By Wilma on 09/05/2023
My first experience with this product was purely by accident. I was desperate & nothing in the past was consistently effective. I spotted the Wilco Zinc on the shelf & decided to give it a try. Best I have ever used. Always made the garden a priority first thing in the morning. when a mound appeared I got on it. Never missed finding the gopher run & placing the grain well into the hole. Got them the first time. I was dealing with 3 or 4 at first but at this point, I have been about a month without a single gopher invasion. So greatful!!!

Marginally effective for springtime application
By Noel on 04/10/2024
I live in southern California where gopher issues are absolutely pestilential. This spring has been especially egregious; I've been using this bait in conjunction with the Yard Butler applicator to get it down into tunnels. After several weeks of diligent application over about a half acre plot, I've found just one dead gopher outside of its tunnel, and otherwise no noticeable decrease in the amount of new mounds appearing on a daily basis. When I go back to look under the rocks that I place over baited access holes, many are filled back in, so I know gophers are getting to the bait, but I'm stumped as to why they're still surviving. We've had wetter weather this spring and the soil is damp; I'm not sure if the bait is breaking down quickly in tunnels, or if this is a seasonal timing issue for gophers being willing/unwilling to accept treated bait, but this product has been minimally effective for me. I'm not sure what variety of mutant gophers we have in our area, but I've used other baits in the past (different, scarier active ingredients) with better results.

No More Gophers!
By Jim on 08/25/2023
Two months after paying for an exterminator, new gopher mounds started to appear. But, it is hard to find zinc phosphide bait here in California. Luckily DoMyOwn.com carries exactly that! I experimented with the dosage for a couple weeks. What ended up working for me was to fill up the runway with bait instead of the recommended dosage stated on the bottle.
