Will proactive application of Talstar on basal applications to host trees (primarily sumac) have a residual effect on feeding Spotted Lantern Flies? Is cut and squirt a method to introduce it to tree cells also effective?
Talstar P has a residual of 30 days for outdoor applications. For Spotted Lantern Fly, the Supplemental Label advises to apply to foliage and areas where pests are seen or known to harbor. Use application volumes of up to 10 gallons per 1000 square feet to get uniform coverage when treating dense and or long turf foliage.
Talstar P is not labeled for cut and squirt methods or tree injections. Safari 20SG would an alternative recommendation for basal bark applications. Please view the product label for more information.
