Will Bifen IT kill spittlebug nymphs or eggs before they become adults?

I know Bifen IT will kill spittlebugs, but I cannot find any statement that says it will also kill the eggs or nymphs. (I have seen online that horticultural oil supposedly will kill the eggs/nymphs)

Answer:

Bifen IT is labeled for spittlebugs however will not be effective (or other pesticides) against the nymphs as they are protected inside their spittle masses from any pesticide sprays. A strong stream of water will wash the froth away, exposing the nymph to predators or drying out. You may contact your local cooperative extension office for further recommendations that have proven to be successful in your area.
