Found live beetles and channels eaten through the tree just under the bark. The beetles are about 1 & 1/2 " long. Red and green.
While CoreTect Tree & Shrub Tablets Insecticide could be used to treat around eucalyptus or other ornamental trees, we cannot be sure that it would correct an existing beetle infestation. Many bark beetles will hide under the bark where they are protected from topical sprays, but not deeply enough into the tree that they are affected by systemic treatments such as the CoreTect.
Beetles often infest trees that are already weed from disease, drought, or other issues, so be sure that you check for signs of stress in existing trees. You may consider reaching out to a Master Gardener in your area for assistance identifying the specific pest so that you can know how best to prevent future issues.
