Will Crystal Blue Black Out reduce algae growth?

I understand blue reduces algae. Does black also reduce it?

Crystal Blue Black Out will not kill or prevent algae as this is a pond colorant only.  Cutrine Plus Algaecide would be an alternative for treating algea. View the product label for more information.
