Will Demand Duo Insecticide kill and eliminate Carpenter Bees? If so, how often should I spray and do I need to focus directly on wood where they are boring?

Answer:

Demand Duo Insecticide applications should be applied on surfaces where Carpenter Bees have been active in previous Spring and Fall seasons. It is best to spray before new activity or as soon as activity is noticed.  Demand Duo should be reapplied every 30 days or as needed while carpenter bees are active.  Focus spray applications to wooden surfaces that receive alot of direct sunlight that are susceptible to carpenter bee infestations including eaves, siding, fascia boards, railings, posts, fencing, and landscape fixtures. If there are existing holes from Carpenter Bees, applying an insecticide dust with a duster inside the holes is recommended until after the Carpenter Bee season.  View our Carpenter Bee Kit and Treatment Guide for the best approach for preventing and treating for Carpenter Bees.
