The Ortho Flying Insect Killer is labeled to be used indoors for gnats but not specifically for fruit flies. For fruit flies you want to find their food source and eliminate it and after you can use something like Gentrol Complete, which is an insecticide and insect growth regulator to prevent them from reproducing.
